2 months to go!

Only 2 months until Max is 1 years old! I can't believe how fast all of that went by! Every day was kind of long but looking back it was quick. :) We've decided on a birthday theme, "Where the wild things are" and are in the planning stages now. I wish everyone could come but we are trying to keep it small. I'll post plenty of pictures though of course! For now though, he's 10 month already!!!

We had our very first family vacation a couple of weeks ago! We went to Bethany Beach in Delaware with my cousin and her family for the weekend! It was truly awesome! The waves were really big but the beach was warm and sunny, so it balanced out pretty well. Max LOVED the water. We'd bring him to the edge to dip his toes in and he'd just grin and giggle and pick his feet up if it got too cold. Very cute. :)

Developmentally, he almost walking, he loves clapping & throwing his arms up in excitement, he's almost talking, very very babbly and he popped his third and fourth tooth! He loves to feed himself and is trying to use a spoon, he's very good & precise with the pincer grasp, he still really loves the water and is getting really good at "swimming"!

Here are some vaca pictures to enjoy, along with the 10 month ones! Theres also some super cute videos too!

9 months today!

I have to apologize to everyone because I skipped Max's 8 month birthday! I'll add pictures of his 8th month but I'll keep all of the updates together.

Max is doing so many things, I hope I don't forget any. So here's the list:
He's:
Crawling,
Has 4 teeth,
Trying to stand,
Said mommy,
Laughing,
Playing with things properly (putting things where they belong),
Has learned how to crawl up AND down the step in our living room,
AND spent the evening and night with a babysitter for the first time!

So there you have it, all of the updates! There's so much of it I don't even know what to say besides that except a few of the things we've been up to, like school is going well (I can't wait for this math class to be over) and that Max is turning into an exploratory monster so we've been forced to start baby proofing (All we have up are baby gates right now, but so far thats plenty).

We had a very nice mellow Mother's day, we've also been hiking every week, we went to the bay two weeks ago which Max enjoyed (because he got to spend time with everybody) and hopefully soon (weather permitting) we'll be able to take him to the pool! Father's day is coming up this weekend and I have some cool things planned for Cameron but I can't tell you because then he'll know!

I have several pictures of this giant monster we call our baby plus one super cute video. Enjoy!

And oh yeah I started dreads in my hair - they look super stupid right now, but supposedly they'll knot up and look pretty good! I can't wait for that because they aren't so cool right now...

7 months (& 2 weeks)!

Sorry this is coming out to everyone so late! We've been busy with spring and teething and sitting and and and and...

So here it is 7.5 months! I have lots of updates and lots of pictures.

First off, Max is finally sitting up all by himself and very very well! He did it in like two days too, it was crazy. I'm loving it because it makes things so much easier. I can plop him down in the living room and he can just sit & play.

On top of that, he has teeth! His two little bottom font teeth popped at the same time (poor kid) last week, so he's been plenty cranky and fussy (still smiling & happy mostly). They're growing fast too, already about a millimeter or two out! CHOMP!

Thirdly, he's waving. :) It's a whole arm wave & very hesitantly, but day by day he's getting better at doing it and knowing when to wave. We're all waving like crazy over here...

And lastly, I think he said "Mommy" finally. He's sort of said it sometimes when he's crying but I think he said it for real the other day (unless my mind is tricking me). I've been hesitant to count it though because i'm not 1000000% sure. :-\

Those are really all of the Max updates, besides maybe that we went on our first hike a few weeks ago and that we saw the cherry blossoms. Other then that, he's still a happy kid, sleeping through the night (except maybe for a few wake ups for the pacifier), eating TONS of solids, meat & now yogurt included and is giving lots of slobbery open mouth baby kisses everywhere!

In other Mullineaux news however, Cameron has to go to Tennessee for a few days for work next week, which will be a nice break for him and I've enrolled at UMUC for Environmental Management starting in 2 weeks! Life is good here, a little hectic but a good adventure. Enjoy the pictures!
7 months & sitting up!

CHERRY BLOSSOMS!
I haven't been to see them in decades & it was really worth it (not sure if mom agreed...)!
(The weekday with less people still = tons of tourists!)

And some mommy love - I'm about to get a baby kiss here...

Half Birthdays and Little Shrimp!

Max is officially a 6 month old child! My mind is reeling a little at that thought since it seems like we've had him for ever yet the last 6 months have flown by! Either way, In the world of Max, He had a terrible 6 month birthday, poor kid, including shots, choking (not ground up enough Lentils) and a small fever!

He had his 6 month check up yesterday (including booster shots which caused the fever) and is growing excellently. He is 15lbs and 14oz and 27.5 inches long(The 85th percentile). He's gonna be tall like daddy and Uncle Nick and Grandpa and ALL of his maternal cousins! The doctor said he is definitely teething because you can see  his gums are a little swollen. other then that the Last Elegant Bear is growing well, developing well and still beyond adorable.

We've started a swim class along with our mommy & me yoga with some of Max's friends. Its pretty cute with all of the babies in their little bathing suits...Max seems to not mind the water, kind of take-it-or-leave-it attitude, sometimes liking it sometimes not. I have a couple of pictures though courtesy of Abby Sievers (mother of Max's girlfriend, Cornelia) that I'll share here.

Other then that, Max is eating solids still like a champ and will be able to start finger foods within the next month. He is working on sitting up but so far can only do the tripod thing for a few nano-seconds. He's using more and more syllables though so he should start talking pretty soon (I'm working on his first word either being Mama-of course-or bidon which is french for tummy!). Rolling over is old news, standing is getting easier and easier (he can hold up his own weight but doesn't have the balance to stand unsupported), he's squirming all over the place, chewing on everything has commenced and so has the happy screaming phase.

And we still have a super happy little baby! Please enjoy the proof! :)

5 month Mullineauxs

Realizing that is has been quite some time since my last post, I apologize! There have been several updates too since last time. First of all, Max is officially 5 months old! We don't go to the doctor's for his official information until 6 months, but by our calculations, he is 15.8 lbs & approximately 27" long. He's getting so big! He is able to hold his own weight while standing, but not without holding onto something. He doesn't have the balance and isn't able to hold his back up without help. Which also means he can't sit up yet, but we are working on that diligently and he can sit like a tripod for a few seconds.

We are still doing Mommy & Me Yoga with all of Max's friends! We have been hanging out with some of these ladies outside of yoga which has been great. Cameron and I hosted a Valentines/movie day for everyone which was a blast, although we missed everyone who couldn't make it. Also, Max and some of his friends are going to be starting a swim class this sunday! We're all very excited and can't wait to show off bathing suites and have our husbands participate a little. Hopefully Max likes swimming more then he likes baths! We did also take a free Little Gym class which he liked a lot, but decided with Yoga, swimming and story time at the library (which we are going to start next week) that it was too much for everyone.

In other news, Max recognizes his name officially! YAY! So if you say "Max" he turns right towards you-its pretty cute. He has also learned to reach for mommy & daddy, which is totally heart meltingly awesome. :) Practicing with his voice has been going well too, he's in the screaming phase-but happy screaming thankfully. Its pretty high pitched at times and very loud. He's also grabbing and playing with toys of all kinds-chewing on them mostly, but also shaking, throwing and hugging them. Very cute. Sleep is getting better too-as long as he gets solid food AND a bottle every day, he'll sleep for about 6 hours minimum. Last night was 8 or 9 hours!!! :D

There have been some small updates to our home; We fixed up our spare third bedroom to be an office now-book shelves and a desk plus extra closet space. Its very light and open and warm-I love being up here to be on the computer or work out or sew. On top of that, John has moved back in which we're all very happy about. He's saving up to buy a house, we're saving up in general and we get some help with work around the house! So welcome back John!

And lastly, I've officially changed my last name. I am now Lucy Kagen Stone Mullineaux so I match Max & Cameron. :)

Here are some pictures of the last month! Enjoy!
