And he has arrived!

The baby figured out how to escape thursday after 35 weeks of hard work; Maxfield Avery Mullineaux was born Thursday at 11:53 pm weighing in at 5lbs 7.1 oz! He is beautiful and screamed right away, something very important for a premie! They did send him to the NICU to assist him with his respiratory system, but he has been doing an excellent job of breathing on his own and convincing the nurses he can leave. We got to hold him finally last night and should be able to start breast feeding today!

So if you are in the DC metro area, please come visit us! We are at Holy Cross in Silver Spring and will be here until monday presumably. We would love to see all of you while we are still in the hospital so that we can take the time at home to figure out how to be parents.

As a side note, I'm doing fine, I was up walking around quite a bit yesterday, so today my incision is not feeling great, but they have me well medicated - the perk of these drugs besides being well, drugs, is that they knock me out so I've been able to sleep too! - and its nothing unusual or excruciating.

We have lots of pictures on our camera but haven't gotten them off of it yet, so in the mean time, enjoy these cell phone pictures of our little 'baked bean'! :)

Finally getting to hold him!
